Google has rolled out a major upgrade to Gemini in Workspace, allowing the AI to scan emails, sheets, and past slides to build comprehensive sales proposals directly inside Google Docs.
The new feature, called “Context Sync,” solves one of the biggest friction points in generative AI: context switching. Users no longer need to copy and paste data from multiple sources. Instead, a sidebar allows them to select reference documents, and Gemini synthesizes them into a polished pitch structure, complete with target-customer statistics and tone adjustments.
Security teams have expressed concerns over permissions, but Google claims that the model adheres strictly to existing workspace file access rights, ensuring that data is never leaked between team members who do not already have access.
